Community Guidelines

Common-sense rules to help steer you clear of trouble

The DareNET community is important to us and we want to see it flourish. To ensure that is possible, we expect everyone to abide by these Community Guidelines at all times. You don't have to agree with everyone, but please be respectful to others. Bottom line, treat others the way you'd like to be treated and don't be a jerk. It's really that simple. If you need help figuring out whether you're being a jerk, refer to this simple chart.

Harassment

Harassment of any kind is not tolerated, whether it happens in public or private. If someone's crossing the line and causing harm, contact a staff member immediately. We care about making this community a safe place for everyone and we've got your back. But if someone's just being mildly annoying or petty, it's best to simply ignore them.

Spam and scams

Everyone hates spam. Please respect our users and channel owners and help keep DareNET free of spam. Don't send unsolicited or unwanted messages, use DareNET to conduct fraudulent schemes or otherwise defraud users, or send massive amounts of messages in a short period of time (also known as "flooding").

Ban evasion

When you're banned from a channel or DareNET, you're cast out with the other misfits. Any attempts to get around it will be considered harassment and only prolong your ban.

Violence and Threats

Predatory behavior, stalking, threats, invading privacy or inciting others to commit violent acts is taken seriously. Such conduct is considered a zero-tolerance violation. Anyone caught doing this will be banned permanently from DareNET.

Bots and clones

Don't load malicious bots onto the network or create excessive connections (clones).

We encourage your participation in upholding these guidelines

DareNET's Community Guidelines represent the rules of the road for everyone. If you have questions about these guidelines, or need to report a violation, please contact a DareNET staff member or submit a report here. When reporting a violation, please include as much detail as possible. It's easiest for us to address issues when we have more context. When we become aware of behavior or content that violates these Community Guidelines or our Terms of Service, our staff reviews and takes the necessary enforcement actions. We may not respond to you directly, but we'll use your report to improve DareNET.

We enforce these guidelines carefully

Okay, this one is more about us than you. Our staff actively reviews all abuse reports to determine whether our Community Guidelines have been violated. To help protect the integrity of our community, we reserve the right to ban any user, suspend or terminate any account that is found to be in violation of these Community Guidelines or engaged in activity deemed to be harmful. You're free to appeal your case, and we review all appeals, but we're not inclined or required to provide a reason at the time of ban or suspension.

There is no fixed time as to the length of a ban or suspension unless otherwise indicated. We will unban or unsuspend accounts at our discretion based on a review of your actions, account standing and any other relevant information we may have.

DareNET is your community

This is your community. Each and every user makes the network what it is, so don't be afraid to dig in and get involved.

You may not like everything you see. Some content may even offend you—if you find it violates these guidelines, then join #help and let a staff member know or drop us a line here, then consider placing the user on ignore or joining another channel—why waste time on something you don't like?

That's it. Thanks for reading.
